Martha Tarrant Named Planner of the Year by CEFPI Southeast (continued)

In her role as the leader of educational planning and programming for RossTarrant Architects, Martha emphasizes the importance of developing and understanding the educational program as the foundation for the design of high quality learning environments.  She advocates for constant improvement in the educational planning and design process and works to elevate expectations regarding the role of higher education environments through her work with many organizations. 

"Martha has exhibited extraordinary leadership in the professional, legislative and regulatory arenas that influence the planning and design of school facilities in Kentucky,” stated Janet Pike, Executive Vice President of AIA Kentucky. “Martha is [also] a recognized leader in the sustainable design movement. She practices what she preaches, as evidenced by the LEED Gold certification her firm’s renovated offices received in 2009.”

Martha has been an active member of the Kentucky chapter of CEFPI, serving as President in 2008.  While President of the newly formed chapter, she was instrumental in the formation of the group’s Board of Directors, increasing the statewide involvement in the chapter. In addition, Martha led the planning and coordination of the 2008 statewide conference.
