Ross-Tarrant Architects, Inc. Awarded “Adventures in Excellence”
National Color Award from Sherwin Williams

LEXINGTON – The interior design staff of Ross-Tarrant Architects, Inc. was pleased with the recent “Adventures in Excellence” National Color Award from Sherwin Williams. The award was given for their design of the new Bourbon County Preschool Head Start Facility because of the building’s bright, youthful color palette designed to be every child’s fantasy. The basis of the design was to create a miniature cityscape for small children inside the building. The hallways were planned to look like roads, complete with stop signs and center lines. The main dining area, dubbed the “Courtyard Café”, has walls painted to look like a courtyard streetscape, with inviting storefronts and a bright blue sky overhead. Everything in the building was created at a scale the kids could understand and enjoy.
