Robinson School Selected for NSBA National Convention

HAZARD -- RossTarrant Architects of Lexington will present a framed certificate from the National School Board Association at this week’s Perry County Board of Education Meeting, recognizing the selection of Robinson School for display at the NSBA’s National Convention in San Diego, California.

In their design for the recent addition and renovation of Robinson School, completed in August 2000, RossTarrant Architects created inviting and dynamic interior spaces through the use of exuberant color and natural light. These key educational design elements have been shown to increase learning abilities and student test scores, and are gaining attention on a national level.

The Project Designer, Brent Richards, credited the Perry County Board of Education with leading the innovative project design through their commitment to Perry County student education. “The design elements used in the interior spaces were very economical as well,” continued Richards, “because we were able to create this environment using standard durable materials, such as paint and vinyl tile, in creative ways to achieve the effect.”
