The previous bookstore at Transylvania University was located in a small space within the basement of an existing building on the university’s main campus. With the completion of the new bookstore and forum, the university has achieved its goal of providing more adequate retail space in a more visual location and creating an opportunity for students and teachers to interact outside the traditional classroom setting.

The facility design had to accommodate an extremely tight site while preserving the existing landscaping and also blending with the traditional architecture of this historic college founded in 1780. Given space considerations, the facility was designed as an addition to the existing library, housed in the Glenn Building.
