The Marion County Area Technology Center addition and renovation was designed to achieve several goals for the Marion County Schools. Immediate needs included bringing the facility into compliance with current codes and regulations regarding classroom sizes and space adjacencies as well as meeting ADA guidelines.

In addition to modernizing the facility, laboratory spaces for all programs were upgraded, and health care facilities were expanded to meet additional program needs. Additional space was also included to provide for the expansion of Project Lead the Way. The addition provides a new, attractive main entrance giving the entire facility an updated image. A highly efficient HVAC system was installed to serve the entire building, including the addition as well as the existing spaces.

Outside the building, new circulation was designed to provide a route for traffic to circumnavigate the building and a new parking lot was provided for students.
