SAE House

SAE House

The new SAE house was designed as a 30,000-square foot building, including residential space for 52 students, kitchen and dining facilities, reception areas and a large library facility.

Located on Rose Lane, this facility was planned to be the first in a series to develop a new “Greek Park” on the University of Kentucky’s main campus. This facility was specifically sited to accommodate campus wide pedestrian and automobile circulation, access of utilities and specific campus master planning principles.

As a high-profile building and a component of the campus master plan, emphasis was given to the building’s appearance. Brick and stone were selected to maintain the traditional appearance of campus architecture.

Also unique to this project is the high level of involvement from private donors in addition to the university’s participation, requiring an intensive project management approach.
