Western Kentucky University Owensboro Campus

Western Kentucky University Owensboro Campus

Western Kentucky University’s new Owensboro campus brings a wealth of educational and economic opportunity to the region. The first public four-year educational institution in the community, this new campus promises to elevate the standard of living for residents of Owensboro and its neighboring areas and gives Western Kentucky University an increased presence throughout the entire region.

The first building on the new campus, the Administration/Classroom Building features the campus bookstore, administration offices, faculty offices, and conference space. Classroom spaces include lecture halls, a computer classroom and interactive video services classrooms to enable students to communicate with classes on other campuses in real-time using cutting-edge video and audiotechnology.

The building includes a wide range of high-performance features including highly insulated walls and windows, low-VOC interior finishes, materials with high percentages of recycled content, and limited storm water runoff that is carefully directed into a pond on site where it can be collected and treated.

Constructed and owned by Daviess County Fiscal Court and leased to WKU, this building was designed to reflect the aesthetic of the main WKU campus. The choice of materials and traditional design make the building easy to identify as a satellite campus of Western Kentucky University.
