Boyle County High School Addition & Renovation

The existing Boyle County High School was built in 1969 with one addition completed in 1989. The Boyle County Board of Education identified several needs for the facility, and prioritized areas that failed to meet Kentucky Department of Education requirements.

The project included a new, more secure main entry as well as a renovated administrative area. The existing kitchen and cafeteria was renovated and expanded to meet growing enrollment needs and allow for a new serving configuration. The cafeteria includes a curved outer wall that will enhance the facility’s front facade, and an outdoor patio area was designated for the senior class. The gym floor was replaced to repair moisture damage, and upgrades to restrooms and women’s locker room facilities were included to bring the facility into Title 9 compliance. The project also included site work to address traffic issues and a new bus canopy to replace the outdated existing structure.

A phased construction schedule allowed the facility to remain occupied throughout the construction phases.
