Transylvania University Brown Science Center Renovations

Transylvania University Brown Science Center Renovations

The existing science facility at Transylvania University was originally constructed in 1968 and has remained largely unchanged since its construction. In an effort to bring its facility up to par with current teaching and laboratory standards, the University sought to renovate the science facility addressing all major building systems including science casework and equipment, finishes, mechanical, electrical and life safety systems.

Renovations included teaching laboratories, classrooms, seminar spaces, lecture spaces, an animal vivarium and faculty research laboratories for the biology, chemistry, physics, computer sciences and mathematics departments. Multi-use classroom spaces were incorporated into the design, new fume hoods and HVAC systems were installed, new windows were added, and the interior finishes and scientific casework were updated.
